Jamie Orr’s Rare VW LT 28 Van
Jamie Orr is a self-professed VW fanatic. In his own words, he describes his job as “Traveling the world looking for cars, parts, and adventures.” He loves the thrill of hunting down rare, unique vehicles, searching for parts, and then the hard logistical work of repairing and rebuilding. His quest to find these vehicles has taken him all over the globe, from resurrecting one of the most rare VW Golfs from a California junkyard to a hostage situation on the Mexican border, to a road trip from Spain to Germany, and much more.
The Road to SEMA 2023
At last year’s SEMA Show, Jamie displayed a vintage 1998 VW LT Van, which he had imported from the Netherlands. During the 21 years this type of cargo van was produced, just under 500,000 were ever assembled, making this van a rare find! On a Tik Tok post, just 9 days before the show, Jamie shows a video of the throwback Volkswagen LT van in the HC Martin Garage in Pottstown, PA, with a long list of work to be done, including a full body restoration, interior upgrades, bigger wheels, tires, and suspension, and even more. With a few finishing touches still to go, Jamie drove the van from Pennsylvania to Las Vegas for the SEMA show, arriving just minutes before the show opened!
